Nissan is expanding its lineup of electric vehicles with the all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya, which is expected to go on sale in early 2022. Named Nissan’s “most technologically advanced car to date”, the stylish SUV is set to compete with similar vehicles like the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Kona Electric. The Nissan Ariya builds on the company’s history of being EV pioneers, adding even more capability, power, and convenience for drivers.
Here’s what drivers can expect from the Ariya:
Going electric doesn’t mean you have to compromise on performance. With the Ariya, you can get the satisfaction of a clean drive, while also having the power and performance of a conventional gas vehicle. The SUV’s all-electric powertrain combines smooth operation, powerful delivery, and long-range charging capabilities. On top of this, the Ariya comes in multiple configurations, meaning there are options for every lifestyle need. The SUV is available in 2WD or all-wheel-drive options, as well as two different battery sizes. So whether you need a car for daily urban commutes or weekend road trips, the Ariya can do-it-all.
One of Ariya’s standout features is the e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology, which is Nissan’s most advanced system yet. This technology stabilized the EV on practically any surface by using dual motors that increase traction. Along with this, the Ariya can transfer 100% power from the front wheels to the back. These combined deliver the highest level of precision control. So no matter which roads you choose to journey on – icy, wet, or snow-covered – the Ariya can navigate it.
The Nissan Ariya comes with a long roster of safety and technology features, including Nissan’s Safety Shield 360. Along with this, it also includes autonomous driving assist, two large full-color display screens, and even Alexa.
Drivers can enjoy stress-free driving thanks to the second-generation ProPilot 2.0, an advanced driver assistance system. This technology can control steering, acceleration, and braking, meaning drivers can remove their hands from the wheel while the Ariya does the work. And don’t worry – the system uses 360° traffic monitoring and highway mapping to stay at a safe distance from other vehicles. When you’ve arrived at your destination, simply turn on ProPilot park, which will seamlessly back you into a spot at the push of a button.
The 2023 Nissan Ariya was designed for maximum convenience. One way drivers can enjoy this is by using their phones to check the battery status, as well as adjust temperature and climate control before entering their vehicle. Similarly, reminders can be set to notify you when it’s time to leave for your destination. The Ariya will also monitor road conditions and suggest alternative routes to keep travel times short.
To top it off, the EV comes with an Alexa feature. This allows drivers to ask for vehicle information, have in-cabin features controlled, and manage the travel route – all without having to look away from the road. Alexa can also perform vehicle-to-home functions, including turning on home lights and opening the garage door.
As part of Nissan’s NEXT transformation plan, they’ve redesigned how they make vehicles. This new design language is something they call: Timeless Japanese Futurism. It’s characterized by sleek, simple, and modern style elements inspired by Japanese culture. The Ariya is more than a great SUV crossover, it’s also a source of comfort. When designed the EV, Nissan wanted to create an environment that drivers want to spend a lot of time in. In doing so, they’ve added Zero Gravity seating, ample storage space, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, two sizeable full-color display screens, and a flat floor.
The all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya is expected to go on sale in early 2022 and will come in multiple configurations. Drivers can choose between two different drive trains (2WD and e-4orce All-Wheel Drive), as well as two different battery sizes. Lastly, the Ariya will be available in 10 different colors, including 6 two-tone paint options.
One of the biggest selling points for the Ariya is its low-cost maintenance. A common myth about owning an EV is that it is more expensive than a conventional gas vehicle. In reality, the cost of owning a traditional vehicle isn’t just what you pay upfront. It’s also the gas, routine work, etc. When you go electric, not only do you save money on fuel and maintenance work but there are also federal and state tax incentives. On top of this, EV’s have fewer moving pieces, meaning you can avoid costly repairs on parts.
Another reason to go EV is the at-home charging. The 2023 Ariya takes this to another level by offering scheduled home charging, which chooses times when electricity costs are lower. Start your commute every day with a full battery, while also paying the smallest price. Not at home? No problem. The Ariya can also be charged at public charging stations and by using fast-charging ports.
The Ariya is rated to have about 300 miles of driving range per charge. This outpaces similar-sized vehicles, including Jaguar’s I-Pace and Audi’s E-Tron, which have 234 and 204 miles of range, respectively.
While prices are not officially out, the Nissan Ariya is expected to go on sale for around $40,000.
