The all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder adds on the beloved nameplate with a redesign built from the ground up. Reinvented, bold exterior

The 2022 Pathfinder received a meticulous redesign. Every inch of the vehicle was carefully reinvented for maximum strength and comfort. The strong front face, wide stance, and blister fenders give the vehicle a powerful look that equally matches its robust powertrain.  Larger tires further push the rugged look, as well as give the SUV strong off-roading capabilities. The front of the vehicle is finished with iconic Nissan signatures such as the V-motion grille, C-shaped headlights, and floating roofline. In the rear, the 2022 Pathfinder features slimmer LED taillights and an oversized, satin chrome Pathfinder name.

A total of 14 colors are offered, including five new two-tone paints – a first for the Pathfinder. In the promotion photos, the two-tone Scarlet Ember with Super Black Metallic and the new Obsidian Green Pearl are showcased. Both are the cherry on top to the vehicle’s striking appearance.

Versatile, robust powertrain

It’s not all about looks. The SUV is just as modern in capability as it is in appearance. Every new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder features a 284-horsepower 3.5 liter Direct Injection V6 engine. This is matched with an all-new 9-speed automatic transmission designed to give a smooth, direct vehicle response. Along with this, the transmission helps with fuel economy by consistently delivering the right gear at the right time. If one thing is guaranteed with the Pathfinder, it’s driving with confidence.

When Nissan says the Pathfinder is “built for adventure,” they mean it. The SUV features a 6,000 lb towing capacity – plenty for towing boats, ATVs, trailers, or camp tents. It also comes standard with Trailer Sway Control. If that’s not enough, the 4WD models include Intelligent 4WD with 7-position Drive and Terrain Mode Selector. Challenging terrain? The system allows torque transfer directly on the clutch pack, allowing for an immediate take-off in low-traction situations. The seven modes include Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut, and Tow. No matter which road you choose to journey, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder can take it.

Additionally, the front and rear suspensions have an updated mount system. The front increases roll stiffness by 28 percent, while the updated shock absorbers and dampers in the back help increase rear roll stiffness by 14 percent. It doesn’t stop there, though. These updates are coupled with a 50 percent increase in high-strength steel meaning drivers have a high-quality driving experience each time.

Fuel economy for the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is rated 21 MPG city, 26 MPG highway, and 23 MPG combined for 2WD models. For 4WD models, it’s rated 21 MPG city, 27 MPG highway, and 23 MPG combined.

Advanced technology and safety features

When redesigning the Pathfinder, Nissan made sure to deliver only the highest standard of technology and safety features. Every 2022 Pathfinder comes standard with the following safety features:

Nissan Safety Shield 360  10 airbags (11 on Platinum models) Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection  Blind Spot Warning Lane Departure Warning High Beam Assist Rear Automatic Braking Intelligent Forward Collision Warning Intelligent Driver Alertness Blind Spot Intervention Intelligent Lane Intervention Traffic Sign Recognition

For the first time ever, Pathfinder SV and SL trims offer Nissan’s innovative ProPILOT Assist. This is a hands-on, driver-assist technology that controls acceleration, braking, and steering. ProPILOT reduces the hassle of stop-and-go highway driving and makes long drives on open highways easier. On Platinum grades, the ProPILOT assist also comes with Navi-link. By combining these two forces, the navigation map data can proactively reduce speed for upcoming freeway curves and also help the driver slow for freeway exits.

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder includes the following technology amenities:

9.0-inch color touchscreen NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Bose Premium Audio with 13 speakers Intelligent Around View Monitor Wireless smartphone charging (select trims)

Roomy cabin for family flexibility

The Pathfinder’s interior is just as robust as the exterior. Drivers and passengers are greeted with a luxurious, spacious environment with plenty of cargo space. Loading the family for a road trip is now easier with standard 8-passenger capacity. There is also the option for a 2nd-row captain’s chair, a first for the Pathfinder.

While the overall dimensions are similar to previous models, thoughtful design changes allow for more interior volume. The 2022 Pathfinder now allows for 164.6 cubic feet, up from 154.0 cubic feet from the previous model. Passengers can utilize the ample cargo area to accommodate a 120-quart cooler or four golf bags with all three rows up. Even more room is available to use with the last row down. Additionally, located under the cargo area floor is a luggage box with 54.1 liters of storage –  up from 33.3 liters on the previous model.

If you’re looking to travel in comfort, the Pathfinder has you covered. Thicker glass, increased door isolation, and carpet with more cushion creates a quieter interior. Along with this, the Pathfinder includes climate-controlled front seats, Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control with 2nd-row climate control, and heated rear seats.

Options for every lifestyle

The Pathfinder is equipped for all your needs. The SUV is offered in 2WD, 4WD, and four trim levels – S, SV, SL, and Platinum. The SV grade includes additional technology features, such as ProPILOT Assist. From there, the SL adds on Navi-link and wireless features. The Pathfinder Platinum rounds out the trims by upgrading to a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, among other additions. A total of 35 accessories are available to optimize the adventure experience.
